ANDREA R. WEISMAN Psy. D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

My starting point in therapy is that no topic cannot be discussed. I believe that all problems/issues can be addressed and improved, and that therapy can be effectively utilized for enhancing decision-making and life transitions. I consider myself a partner in the therapeutic process. I am a listener, a coach, and an accountability partner. I see it as my role to create a safe space in which you can explore and learn to love your story.

My clinical practice is firmly rooted in evidence-based practices, and I see great value in thinking outside the box. I have a passion for working with people who are living with cancer, experiencing relationship discord (couples and families), and healing after infidelity. I believe in a holistic view and see immense value in understanding and treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

My approach to therapy is person-centered and reality theory based. I believe all behavior is meaningful. In treatment I often focus on increasing communication, exploring, and utilizing strengths and resources while eliminating thoughts, feelings, or behaviors (CBT) that are not bringing the client where they wish to be in life. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families, including Queer, LGBT, and gender exploring.
