My starting point in therapy is that no topic is off-limits. I believe that all problems and issues can be addressed and improved, and that therapy can effectively enhance decision-making and facilitate life transitions. I am a partner in the therapeutic process, serving as a listener, coach, and accountability partner. My role is to create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and learn to love your story.
My clinical practice is firmly rooted in evidence-based practices, but I also value thinking outside the box. I have a passion for working with individuals living with cancer and those exploring end-of-life issues. Additionally, I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate relationship discord and heal after infidelity. I believe in a holistic approach and value understanding and treating the whole person —mind, body, and spirit.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered and based on reality theory. I believe that all behavior has meaning. In treatment, I often focus on enhancing communication, exploring strengths and resources, and eliminating thoughts, feelings, or behaviors (using cognitive-behavioral therapy) that prevent clients from achieving their desired outcomes. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families, including those who identify as Queer, LGBT, or gender-exploring.
I hold a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology and am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia. I also have an M.S. in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology and an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. I was recognized as a Top Doc by Richmond Magazine in 2017 and 2018, and I am the founder of Tikvah Collaborative Practices.

Carl Rogers once said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” I believe therapy helps you navigate in the direction of a good life. Therapy should be where you can come as you are: a judgment-free zone and safe space to traverse life’s challenges. I plan to walk beside you in the therapeutic process while allowing you to travel in any direction you choose. I listen, encourage, empower, and challenge you to become your best self. Throughout your self-discovery journey, I hope you can make peace with your past, be passionate about the present, and have hope for the future.
My theoretical framework is person-centered, CBT, and solution-focused. I meet people where they are and strive to empower individuals and couples to overcome obstacles, embrace their identity, and achieve their full potential. I incorporate less conventional therapeutic approaches to evidence-based practices and provide a personalized approach to healing and inner exploration. I am passionate about working with women of color, dealing with race-related stress, and building self-confidence. The focus of my practice is providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth that manages anxiety, depression, and trauma.
